Mexican Tacos: an appetizer that makes you travel to Mexico.

Emergence of tacos:

The term ´´Taco´´ comes from the Nahuatl word ´tlahco´ which means ´´half or in the middle´´, alluding to its appearance.

The real origin of tacos is not completely known, but it is thought that they arose in pre-Hispanic Mexico. According to research, there are two references to that period: the first data is from the era of Moctezuma, who instead of spoons used tortillas shaped on hot stones, giving it a figure similar to today's taco; the second theory was the implementation of these tortillas to wrap the food that was going to be sent to the field employees.

Some types of Tacos:

Golden tacos:

It is a taco native to Sinaloa, made with a freshly made tortilla, filled with shrimp, chicken, beans or potatoes. The tortilla is folded in half or made into a roll and then fried in oil.

Soft Tacos:

It is made up of two fried tortillas to which suadero (beef) is added on top and served with cilantro or onion.

Tacos of Basket:

Its name refers to the basket where they are kept to keep them warm, the interior of the taco is filled with different stews, usually potatoes, pork rinds, beans or marinade. 

Although they are eaten throughout Mexico, they are native to San Vicente Xiloxochitla, Tlaxcala. Every day they are sold at taco stands located on the streets, or they are also bought from some vendors who wander around on their bicycles. Acquiring it is something easy, since its price is very low, which is why it is considered a very cheap cue.

Placero Taco:

It began to be called that way since 1946, since they were offered in the Plaza de Toros on the days of the bullfights, they were tacos stuffed with pork rinds and meat. It is the traditional hot tortilla taco that can be filled with any type of meat or seafood. 

Stew tacos:

In this type of taco, the filling is made from various stews made up of chicharrón in green sauce, rajas in cream, potato with chorizo, mole, tongo, nopales, meatballs, etc. and served with lemon, onion or cilantro.

Drowned Tacos:

Typical of the state of Jalisco, although in Michoacán they make them with their own style. The tortillas are bathed in sauce to the point of drowning, hence the name drowned tacos, their filling is shredded meat in this case and they are served at the moment.

Bent Tacos:

 Of rustic origin, a dish that was made from leftovers, ideal for surprise visits from family, friends or acquaintances, it was formerly called jambados. Preparing them is a quick and easy task, the filling can be made from potatoes, meat, beans, etc.
