What is IOT(Internet of Things). 3 quick ways to memorize

Que es iot internet de las cosas
In this article we invite you to deepen what is IOT internet of things, how it came about and the different sectors in which it has a high impact.
You may be aware of advances in technology and have heard of speakers or smart glasses, perhaps even used them. These are technological advances by way of applications that it could have the IOT (internet of things), to provide a long-term change in our daily lives.
Emergence of the internet of things
The first time this term was mentioned was at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology ). The concept of it defines that all those objects that we use daily such as mobile devices, tablets, laptops, computers, etc., have a daily connection to the Internet. The significant progress of this type of technology.
Currently work is being done so that all those objects and devices that do not maintain a connection to the internet can do so, and in this way can communicate with other media in our home via Bluetooth, LTE, 5G, WIFI and other connection networks.
For the not too distant future, this would imply the use of M2M machines, in order to further digitize everything that is present in our physical world.
The vice president of the company Gartner, communicated that CIOs, who dominate the innovative trends of the Internet of things, have the opportunity to lead the digital innovation in their businesses.

New trends

Hyperconnectivity and artificial intelligence: topics that have become popular recent, because with the incorporation of these to various mobile or other applications, make extreme intelligence possible to save time, money and effort (each component of the technology sector can employ artificial intelligence capabilities in its processes).

The Internet of Things provides that we can have remote control of different objects, which are connected to each other.

Sectors in which IOT has an impact

The influence of the Internet of things is valid in the private sector, becoming a necessary and important resource.

  • Industrial sector: Entrusts the machinery in the performance of specialized tasks.
  • Urban sector: Controls specific activities such as the operation of certain structures through which controls are carried out at traffic lights, bridges, train tracks, among others.
  • Environmental sector: Allows access to information from atmospheric or meteorological sensors to promote knowledge of the current state of the weather, meteorological phenomena such as cyclones, earthquakes, among others.
  • Health sector: Evidence of the use of machines in laboratories, salon utensils for minimal access operations, carried out by a digital mechanism, in short, the health sector is one of the most benefited from this technology.
The purchase and sale of data will be a crucial element for these new IOT technologies. Organizations should be educated about the risks, uses, and opportunities of data exchanges through this system.

Every technological discovery brings with it social and ethical problems when its use is implemented. A sensitive topic results in data protection that will need government collaboration and adaptation to new technological demands, to achieve good practices that ensure users' private information.

Today we are surrounded by the Internet, every device we use whether it is a mobile, laptop, tablet or even in our own home. Internet reaches every corner of the planet and it is sought that it increase its speed when exchanging data between users, servers, etc. We sail on it all the time and it seems as endless as the sea, riddled with information both harmful and helpful.
